Nintendo Game and Watch Fire (no box)

Nintendo Game Watch Fire (no box).  Classic handheld platformer.  Simple but so addictive!  Do you remember playing these back in the 80s.  Life was so much simpler and fun!

Fire is a silver type Game & Watch video game unit that was initially released on the July 31, 1980, and as a part of the Wide Screen series on December 4, 1981. It is a single-screen single-player Game & Watch. The game is one of the best selling in the Game & Watch series selling an astonishing (albeit estimated) 1,000,000 copies worldwide. A rerelease for the game was made for the Wide Screen units, which sold 200,000 more units that the silver edition. This particular version of the game was released on December 4, 1981.

The player controls two firemen who carry a trampoline and must catch people who fall from a burning building and bounce them into a waiting ambulance. The player is awarded 1 point for each person who reaches the ambulance, and loses one of their three lives for each person who hits the ground.  People are jumping out of a burning building, and your goal is to get them to safety by using the stretcher to bounce them into an ambulance, with most taking more than one bounce to get there.

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Mr. Game & Watch has a move called “Fire”, which has two firemen launch him upwards with a trampoline, referencing Fire. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, he then floats down with a parachute, referencing Parachute.  In Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, the stage Flat Zone 2 shifts between several layouts, one based on Fire.

Fire has been present in three of the Game & Watch Gallery video games, including Game & Watch Gallery,Game & Watch Gallery 3  and Game & Watch Gallery 4. In each of these games you could play the original and a remake featuring Mario characters (Mario and Luigi were the heroes of the remade version). The characters that jumped out of the building were replaced by Yoshies, Toads, and Kongs.
