Sega Mega Drive Zoom SMD3.  Platformer for the Sega Megadrive.  Did you ever get punched by a banana? Tussle with a mushroom? Tumble into a black hole? You will now! ZOOM into space and race around the play grids, out-running the funny critters who pop up in the strangest places!  Zoom! (ズーム) is a 1988 puzzle game developed by Discovery Software International for various computers and ported to the Sega Mega Drive in 1989 (released 1990).   It features a 3D-like board the player moves around on. Up to two players may play simultaneously.

The player controls a character named Zoomer, who is constantly moving. Various monsters will appear in the levels. Some chase the player, while others do other things such as erasing the lines the player has filled. Zoomer can shoot a ball from the back which can knock monsters backwards upon being struck by it.The game has 6 stages with 6 levels in each stage. The levels feature a board with gridlines on it that the player walks on. The lines are painted as the player walks on them. If the player paints all four edges of a square in the grid, the square flashes indicating it has been filled. All the squares must be filled to complete the level.  The goal of each level is to surround each tile with lines so the tiles all flash. You are situated on the gridlines between each tile; moving around them draws a line around them. A and C jump. B kicks back, knocking enemies away. One hit by an enemy takes away a life. Items appear at various intervals, such as fruit (for points), sunflowers (temporary invincibility; collecting one while invincible has NO effect), and feathers (prematurely complete the level. There is a time limit to complete each level, however running out of time seems to have no effect on gameplay.  Several items appear randomly in levels. Some of which simply add points while others may slow down monsters, render the player invincible, or even instantly clear the level.
